The Holocaust did not start with the gas chambers. It started with hate speech.”

IndiaThe Holocaust did not start with the gas chambers. It started with hate speech.”

The United Nations once stated, “Genocide is a process. The Holocaust did not start with the gas chambers. It started with hate speech.” The Supreme Court of India now takes a strict stance against hate speech.

The ghost of hate speech has lingered within our nation’s sociopolitical and legal realms for an extended period, persisting and evading efforts at exorcism and reconciliation. People are either losing jobs or not given houses as tenants due to their religion as the peak of intolerance is rising due to altered infected mindsets.

The Supreme Court of India has recently mandated police forces across all Indian states to aggressively initiate FIRs (First Information Reports) in instances of hate speech, falling under the purview of offenses outlined in Section 153A, 153B, 295A, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860. This mandate applies even in the absence of formal complaints, and any failure to comply would render the responsible officers liable for contempt of court as given in the Writ Petition (Civil) No.940/2022, Shaheen Abdulla Versus Union Of India & Ors.

All over the country, particularly concentrated in certain states in India, hate speech is exploding out of control.  While some political experts are trying to project the hate speech phenomena as a forerunner before the big elections of 2024, the gigantic monster of hate speech is out of control and nothing can stop it post-elections because the ethos of most Indian minds has changed.

While conversing with the enlightened educated strata of society, many have very little to say about human atrocities because they too have been syringed with high shots of propaganda from WhatsApp news.  It was shocking to hear some of them clap on the hate propaganda because they were brainwashed into believing it was for their benefit.  Can we even call them educated or elite?  The poor farmers in their fields show more humanity.  Capturing some of those fragments of information flooding their social media platforms, most of it is fabricated lies and if it came out in the public domain, it could easily be debunked.

As one knows, Manipur is on fire mainly because of initial false information shared against Kukis.  In the first instance, a picture was shared of a murder of a girl from Delhi, which was an honour killing case.  The fake news propagators spread around that the Kukis had killed a Meitei girl.

Then once again, they brought out another picture when people went on the streets of Delhi to protest and in this case, the propagandists pulled out a picture of a girl in Arunachal Pradesh who was a victim of domestic violence, projecting her as a Meitei victim of some Kuki’s violence.  Already the anger was burning in the Meiteis when they set out to attack the Kukis.  They, of course, readily believed fake propaganda without verifying anything. This along with the high court’s new law antagonized situations and led to the burning of Manipur which tragically took nearly 200 lives.  If you see the hate spilling out, one knows the source of it starts with propaganda and hate speech.

Here is another instigation to instill anger in the Mizos against Congress.  The BJP IT cell leader, Amit Malviya, sent out a post aiming to stir up the anger of the Mizos.  If taken further, this could have destabilized the peace of Mizoram.   Very often, the IT cell misconstrues videos from another country to make it look as if it is happening in India, and when shared furiously on social media platforms unchecked, this has triggered riots in India.

Amit Malviya claimed that Lt Rajesh Pilot (Sachin Pilot’s father) and Suresh Kalmadi were rewarded with ministership in Congress government because they carried air raids on Aizawl on March 5th, 1966.

Sachin Pilot came out and busted Malviya’s false claim verifying that the commission certificate of Rajesh Pilot which states he was commissioned into the IAF on 29th Oct 1966.

Sachin Pilot @SachinPilot tweeted, “@amitmalviya, – You have the wrong dates, wrong facts…Yes, as an Indian Air Force pilot, my late father did drop bombs. But that was on erstwhile East Pakistan during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and not as you claim, on Mizoram on the 5th of March 1966.He was commissioned into the IAF only on 29th October 1966!
(Certificate attached).  Jai hind and a happy Independence Day,”

Endless Hate Speech Gatherings Over India

Here in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, Far-right Hindu Raksha Dal organized a street march, where its members used a speaker mounted over a vehicle to deliver hateful speeches vilifying Muslims.

The surname “Dabral” is prevalent within the Hindu community of Garhwali Gangari Brahmins, who predominantly reside in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state in India. They recently sprung up with fears that allowing Muslims or Christians to live in their area would incur the wrath of their gods. This thinking is insidiously creeping into different parts of India.  Perhaps it has never occurred to them that Hindus too are living safely and very successfully in Christian and Muslim-dominated nations

From Dabral they say, “The locals are opposed to letting these people, be they Muslims or Christians, live here… Or else natural calamities will befall our state, the abode of gods.”

In London, lawyers alarmed are identifying signs and processes of looming genocide in India, from evictions from villages, to hate speech, to weapons training, to segregational laws. That’s why @GenocideWatch1 and @HolocaustMuseum have issued genocide warnings for India.

A netizen, Shameela expressed, “If even 10% of arms were discovered from a Muslim, he will be declared a terrorist by NIA. No UAPA, no draconian laws, no bulldozer treatment for Bittu Bajrangi.  There is clearly preferential treatment, which enables hate speech to turn into actions of aggression.

Another shared, “In spite of the Supreme Court’s directives, this News handle
@dna is hell-bent on spreading fake news.

Shamelessness is in their DNA.

#TruthTellers🤝”

In #Karnataka’s #Dharmastala, Police have arrested Pramod Saliyan, Pushparaj, ChennaKeshav, Sandeep on charges of Cow Smuggling.

These four cow smugglers are #BJP workers, on one hand they torture #Muslims & call cow “Mother” on other hand they smuggle the same Cow.

In Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Hindu Janjagran Manch leader Kamal Gautam delivers hate speech against Muslims. He used derogatory language against minorities and threatened violence.

In another case, a mob allegedly threw stones at a mosque in Gajwel, Telangana.

Madhya Pradesh, ruled by the BJP is amongst the top few states having the highest atrocities against the Dalits and Adivasis where atrocities against tribals soared by 25% in in 2020 recording 2401 cases of atrocities against tribals in 2020 – 25% more than in 2019, while Rajasthan was at number 2 with 1878 cases as per NCRB Report.

There was also a very disturbing video of a 45-year-old Dalit man being dragged by a truck on being a suspected thief is being shared on social media which dates back to 28th Aug’2021 when the man was killed during that torturous drag.

In Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi, Muslim-owned shops were forcibly closed by Hindutva outfits! Posters have come up asking Muslim traders to vacate their shops before a Panchayat targeting Hindu women” to be held on June 15! Some Muslim shopkeepers have left Uttarkashi!

The brutal murder, and decapitating of David, an innocent Kuki during the recent Manipur Massacre is all the result of a hate campaign that started with false information leading to hate speech which finally led to a horrific massacre.

A Kuki, Tomsing Nem writes, “Killing him in the most gruesome manner was not satisfying enough to them so they even mock him over his decapitated head. Their evil deed knows no bound and it’s a shame that they still rejoice and justify their crime.

They lied by accusing the Kuki-Zo themselves of beheaded David in order to frame the Meiteis. But God had different plans. Their filthy lies were exposed by the culprit himself.

It is beyond my comprehension how people can loathe us so much yet expect us to stay together in the same environment. How long must we suffer in the hands of these radical Meiteis??

We do not want the same sufferings to befall our future generations and hence separation from these animals is the only option for the Kuki-Zo. It is no more a choice.
This video of David is too disturbing and heartbreaking. He was a brave martyr and his death will be avenged.

You can report and lock my account as many times as you want but the truth will not be silenced.

How can any human seeing this inhuman act of #Meitei be silent and justify the acts of the perpetrators? If this is your brother, son, father, or friend will you keep quiet?”

Defining hate speech is complex but the real problem in tackling them lies in the implementation and execution of law and judicial pronouncements, the Supreme Court said days after parts of Haryana were rattled by communal violence.

The Supreme Court has taken a big step in the right direction by actually propelling a law that instantly calls for action.  Hate speech is snaking through India like a hungry river aiming to swallow up everyone standing in its course, and the only action during this malady is to take measures to curb it and nib it in the bud. Policymakers, institutions, and citizens must collaboratively address this multifaceted issue to create a society defined by harmony, tolerance, and respect – the very essence of our constitutional aspirations.

The United States, another big democracy took decisive actions to suppress the extremist Ku Klux Klan movement.  No nation can effectively combat communalism, religious conflicts, and caste-based warfare when certain prominent political figures appear to endorse such actions. Thus, the President himself, Ulysses S. Grant, a Republican President addressed the violence associated with the Ku Klux Klan by enacting laws and disbanding the group. Grant served from 1869 to 1877, and concerted efforts were made in collaboration with Congress. The response included the implementation of three “Force Acts,” specifically designed to curtail violence, particularly within the Ku Klux Klan. This response was accompanied by extensive coverage and condemnation from the media and journals, which contributed to weakening the movement’s influence. Today, there are over 3.1 million Indian Americans living safely, successfully, and happily in the USA because a movement like Ku Klux Klan was banned.

As the United Nations says, “Genocide is a process. The Holocaust did not start with the gas chambers. It started with hate speech.”  India could be on the brink of a civil war with this level of hate speech accelerating.  The Supreme Court is India’s last thread of hope.  All the other institutions have failed.
