As COVID cases rise, DCGI grants emergency use approval to Covaxin, Corbevax, and ZyCov-D COVID vaccines for children of different age groups.

In a tweet, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, the DCGI has also granted emergency use authorization to ZycovD for children above the age of 12 years for a two-dose regime as COVID 4th wave commences.

Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has given restricted emergency use authorization to Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for children.

The approval has been given for the children between the age of six to twelve years. It has also granted emergency use authorization to Corbevax for those aged between five to twelve years.

With 2,927 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,30,65,496, while the active cases stand at 16,279, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Tuesday. The death toll climbed to 5,23,654 with 32 fresh fatalities and +151 died yesterday.
