The grand opening of “Tokyo Night & Light,” a projection mapping display, illuminated the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on Sunday,
February 25. Governor Yuriko Koike addressed the audience, and artist Aimer performed live during the event. The display, featuring stunning light and sound effects, wowed the 1,100 attendees.
This project earned a Guinness World Records™ title for the “largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent).”
Aimer’s surprise performance added to the excitement, with her rendition of popular songs enhancing the atmosphere. Governor Koike highlighted the project’s aim to become a new tourist attraction,
combining art with Japanese projection mapping technology. The display, accompanied by a live orchestra, offered different content on weekdays and weekends. Finally, the event concluded with a Guinness World Records™ Certification Ceremony, where Governor Koike received the official certificate.
