Chandigarh: Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has deferred its rallies in Maur Mandi in the month of December as part of its campaign for farmers, laborers and traders. The Punjab unit has deferred their planned ‘Kisan, Mazdoor, Vyopari bachao‘ rallies, which were to start from Dec 4 at Maur Mandi in Punjab.

The party in-charge of Punjab affairs Jarnail Singh said in a statement here Saturday that rallies have been postponed in support of the farmers’ movement.

The farmer of the country is agitating in Delhi with their demands. Keeping this in mind, the party has decided to postpone the December 4, 13 and 20 rallies. The next date for these rallies will be announced later.

He said that a large number of party leaders and volunteers are involved in the ongoing farmers’ protest in Delhi. Earlier, it was expected that the Modi government would accept the demands in view of the farmer movement on 26-27 November. Due to the stubborn attitude of the Modi government, this movement may take longer, so these rallies have been deferred.

Jarnail Singh further said that a large number of party leaders, workers, and volunteers were involved in the ongoing struggle of farmers in Delhi due to which the proposed rallies had to be kept on hold for now.

Farmers are the backbone of our country. The leaders and volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party are participating in the agitation without the banner of the party for their rights. He said that the Kejriwal government of Delhi would provide all possible help to the farmers.
