RJD alleges misuse of administration to influence election results

RJD today alleged misuse of administrative machineries to influence results of Bihar Assembly Elections in favor of ruling parties in some seats where counting was heading towards a photo finish.

National spokesman of RJD Manoj Jha told media person here that Grand alliance was inching towards the formation of next government in Bihar with the progress of counting of votes for Bihar Assembly Elections.

As the counting would move further towards its completion, RJD led Grand Alliance would get a comfortable majority to form the government, he claimed. RJD leader said that senior JD(U) and BJP leaders rushed to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence when they sensed the fact that NDA was heading towards defeat.

Meeting of JD(U) and BJP leaders with Chief Minister Mr. Kumar was a move to issue a directive to administrative machinery for influencing election results, he suspected.

Mr. Jha said that Mr. Kumar now Chief Minister for a few hours and he should not get indulged in such practices. Some constituencies where RJD led Grand Alliance candidates had emerged victorious but Returning Officers were not issuing certificates to them, apparently due to instructions from their political masters, he alleged.

RJD leader said that the people of Bihar had delivered its verdict and it would be crystal clear after completion of counting of votes. RJD led Grand Alliance was all set to form the government and Tejaswi Prasad Yadav would become Chief Minister, he claimed.

Owaisi’s AIMIM wins 5 Seats in Seemanchal region

The Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen has won five assembly seats in the Seemanchal region of Bihar. The party, which opened its Bihar account last year with a win in the 2019 by-polls won in Amour, Kochadhamam, Jokihat, Baisi, and Bahadurgunj, where it had fielded Akhtarul Iman, Muhammed Izhar Asfi, Shahnawaz Alam, Syed Ruknuddin,, and Azhar Nayeemi, respectively.

AIMIM’s rise in the Seemanchal region is seen as a game-changer in Bihar politics in the coming years. The area, consisting of districts like Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, and Katihar, has seen the least infrastructural development and has been neglected by successive governments.

The northern territory in Bihar has also been severely affected by floods every year. As the election result is still stuck, the grand alliance supporters are eyeing AIMIM’s possible support in the formation of the government. However, Mr. Owaisi has not answered when asked about this in his press conference.
