IndiaA shocking piece of news by an NDTV employee to Newslaundary

An NDTV employee shared a shocking piece of news to Newslaundary, where Sanjay Pugalia asked Sohit Mishra from NDTV to do a disrupting act.

Approximately 300 media professionals from both national and regional publications were present at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. One of them was Sohit Mishra, NDTV’s Mumbai bureau chief, all representing both national and regional publications gathered for a press conference during the 3rd meeting of the INDIA alliance in Mumbai. Rahul Gandhi held the press conference on Adani. A report was published by OCCRP claiming that Adani invested his own money to buy his shares and manipulated the stock.Among them was Sohit Mishra, NDTV’s Mumbai bureau chief.

However, it came to light that just hours before the event, Mishra allegedly received instructions from NDTV’s editor-in-chief, Sanjay Pugalia, who had joined the network after Adani’s AMG Media Network acquisition of NDTV. These instructions purportedly directed Mishra to disrupt Gandhi’s press conference, generate chaos, and alter the narrative, according to sources within NDTV as reported by Newslaundry.

A shocking confession by NDTV employee to Newslaundary:

During the 3rd meeting of the INDIA alliance in Mumbai, Rahul Gandhi Ji held a press conference on Adani. A report was published by OCCRP claiming that Adani invested his own money to buy his shares and manipulated the stock.

At the press conference,

Around 300 media persons, from both national and regional publications were present at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. One of them was Sohit Mishra, NDTV’s Mumbai bureau chief.

But hours before the event, Mishra had been allegedly asked by none other than the channel’s editor-in-chief Sanjay Pugalia to disrupt Gandhi’s press conference, “create a ruckus” and “change the narrative”

And we all know that Sohit Mishra resigned from NDTV a few days back. This is how Adani used his media channel to create a ruckus at that press conference which was against him only.

to spoil, disturb, and create a ruckus about the press conference of Rahul Gandhi on 31st August in the Mumbai convention of #INDIA alliance, Which Sohit refused, now he has been removed from the channel!”

In a recent controversy, the Adani Group found itself under scrutiny due to a complex web of shell companies, allegations of stock manipulation by four Adani companies from 2013 to 2017, and apparent oversight by the Indian market regulator SEBI. The conglomerate swiftly mounted a defense, while its recent media acquisition, NDTV, attempted to provide support.

The potential incriminating details, discovered by the OCCRP and later shared with The Guardian and Financial Times, revived allegations of stock manipulation previously made in the controversial Hindenburg report earlier this year.

This development ignited a political firestorm. The BJP claimed that India’s impressive growth was viewed negatively by some, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during a press conference on August 31 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, pressed for a joint committee probe, emphasizing the perceived impact on the country’s reputation.

Billionaire Gautam Adani now owns a majority stake in the Delhi-based news channel – New Delhi Television Ltd.  Adani Enterprises, through its indirect subsidiary RRPR Holdings, acquired an additional 1.76 crore shares of NDTV for ₹602 crore from NDTV promoters Radhika and Prannoy Roy.

This only throws light on how news channels play dangerous games by creating a ruckus, downplaying serious events, and stopping important personalities from speaking to control their narratives. The NDTV, once renowned for its ethical standards, appears to have deviated from its principled path, losing its ethical compass and the dynamic integrity it once held under none other than the new NDTV’s editor-in-chief, Sanjay Pugalia.
