Protesters in Iran burn Ayatollah Khomeini’s home, many shot

Middle EastProtesters in Iran burn Ayatollah Khomeini's home, many shot

Iran protests: In Iran, protesters set fire to the ancestral home of the Islamic Republic’s founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Iran protests are unstoppable and horror stories increase with children and teenagers being brutally killed.  Videos posted on social media showed part of the structure in the city of Khomein in Iran being set ablaze.  Throngs of people, unafraid to die stomp on streets.  A viral video of a woman showing her bleeding whipped body writes, “I’m a woman from Iran, I carry the wounds of war which was imposed on us by our own regime. I am Wounded but unbowed and I will continue to go to the streets to protest not only against compulsory hijab but against gender apartheid regime. We will win this battle.” #MahsaAmini

David Patrikarakos writes on Nov 18th: “Astonishing scenes from #Iran. Protesters have burned down the house of Ruhollah Khomeini, the Islamic Republic’s founder.

The house has been a museum for the past 30 years. This is an attack on the essence of the republic itself.”

Qasim Rashid writes on November 14th:  “This is horrifying. The Iranian parliament voted overwhelmingly (227-63) to execute the 15,000 protesters they already arrested.

These were peaceful protestors simply seeking the right to basic justice and autonomy. Unacceptable and barbaric.”

Protesters in Iran have burned down the home of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic. A warning to those who abuse religion to capture power!”

This year is the year of blood, (Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei) will be toppled,” protesters in Tehran can be heard saying in a video posted by 1500tasvir.

Several fires can be seen burning behind the unique arches of the museum.

Protests raged in at least 23 cities in Iran on Thursday and Iranian news agency Fars reported that five members of the security forces were killed.

Iranian authorities have been unable to control the protests owing to Amini’s death in police custody after she was arrested by the morality police for not wearing the hijab properly.

Masih Alinejad on November 17th writes in anger after seeing the brutal beating of a doctor: “The regime in Iran is controlled by savages. This brave doctor was severely beaten by the regime’s security forces. His crime? He tried helping wounded protesters to save their lives.

Xerxes wrote: “Aylar Haqi died last night after being thrown off a roof by Islamic Republic security forces.

She was a medical student at Tabriz Azad University and sacrificed her life for the freedom of her fellow Iranians.”

Rights groups report that over 300 people have been killed till now in the protests. Reports indicate that the regime is preparing to turn to more violent tactics now, similar to what happened in 2019 when around 304 people were killed, as per Amnesty International figures.

What started as anti-hijab protests, have now turned into anti-government protests, a regime that has ruled the country since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

General Hossein Salami, head of the Revolutionary Guards, says Iran is facing a “conspiracy” from Western countries. “The United States, England, Germany, France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and their allies are preparing to fight God, his prophet and the martyrs,'” Salami said, quoted by Fars news agency.

Iran is trying to get the death penalty for at least 1500 people to try and intimidate protesters.

“They Want a Democracy,” said Iranian Shirin earlier.  Iranians are looking for a change and the regime is trying to kill them before that.

There is a powerful appeal to the world to stop the horrific attacks on unarmed protesters.  Why is the world letting it go on for so long?  They are going to execute 1500 innocent people simply for protesting for a democratic Iran.  Can the world close their eyes and say it is an internal matter when such atrocities are going on?

Powerful protests for #iran today.
@RishiSunak
& the #ukgovernment need to act now to stop the execution of 1000s of innocent people simply protesting for a democratic #Iran #trafalgarsquare #IranProtests2022 #IranRevolution2022
