Russia shelled 40 towns in the eastern Donbas region and thousands of civilians have been killed in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion.
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights says that as of Sunday, at least 3,153 civilians had been killed in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion started on February 24, which was four months ago. The figure includes 226 children. However, the numbers seem to be downplayed estimating that on the 16th day of the war, over 500 were killed.
In Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Joint Task Force of Ukraine’s armed forces conveyed that more than 40 towns were shelled in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region on Wednesday, eradicating 47 civilian sites, including 38 homes and a school. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office said nearly a dozen high-rise buildings were demolished as Russian forces continued their attacks. Severodonesk is one of the last cities Ukraine controls in the Luhansk region is occupied by Russia by 95%.
Russia has concentrated its firepower on Donbas after failing to gain victory in the capital Kyiv or Kharkiv. Separatist elements in Donbas already enjoy support from Russia.
The deadly scorched-earth policy, (a military strategy that aims to destroy anything that might be useful to the enemy) used by the Russian army has drastically decreased the population of Ukraine from 2,136,000 to 40,000 in only 90 days of the war, a war that no one is able to stop.
Sources report that Russian mothers of 270 dead Russian soldiers, whose abandoned bodies are being stored in Ukrainian refrigerators are asked to arrive and pick them up free of charge and Ukrainian Railways @Ukrzaliznytsia offer to cover all delivery-related expenses!
Check out the videos below that show some of the horrors of the war, but some videos and pictures are too terrible and graphic to show and have not been shared here.

#Bucha resident on the #RussianUkrainianWar: ‘It was rumored #RussianArmy started selecting girls for rape. My wife dressed our 2 daughters in dirty baggy clothes & covered them with ash so badly they didn’t remind girls anymore. We kept pitchforks at the door of our house’. ‘If Russians came to take our children, I’d defend them with one pitchfork and my wife – with another. We realized that we’d be immediately killed and then what would be would be, but it was the only way to protect our children. We couldn’t act otherwise

On the 16th day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they killed 549 civilians, including 41 children, thus the present statistics of only 3,153 civilians killed seem very dubious in the invasion that began on the morning of 24 February, when Putin announced a “special military operation” to “demilitarise and denazify” Ukraine. The war has now been on for approximately four months and the death toll would be higher.
