Washington: US Vice President Mike Pence will attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Mike Pence has not ruled out using the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office.
ABC News Channel reported about it citing various sources of information. Biden had earlier invited Pence to attend his swearing-in ceremony. Meanwhile, Mr. Biden commented that President Donald Trump was not attending his swearing-in ceremony, saying it was a good thing.
CNN quoted sources as saying that if Mr. Trump’s behavior became more uncontrollable, he could be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.
The 25th amendment in the United States empowers the Vice President and the majority cabinet to remove the President. Biden will be sworn in as US President on 20 January.
