Mamata Banerjee expressed sympathy with the state government employees, saying that the condition of the central government employees was deteriorating due to the Coronavirus crisis. But we stand with our employees.

Kolkata: Just before the assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday told the good news to government employees and said that DA will be given at the rate of 3% in January next year.

Addressing the trade union at the state secretariat, Mamata Banerjee expressed sympathy with the state government employees, saying that the condition of the central government employees was deteriorating due to the coronavirus crisis. But we stand with our employees.

On July 26, 2019, the SAT directed the state government to pay DA to the state government employees over the next six months. Government employees organization SAT filed a contempt of court case for non-payment by the state government.

The state then applied for review in the SAT. In the midst of this legal battle, the Government Employees Union wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In view of this letter, Mamata Banerjee called a meeting and said that the Central Government employees are facing a situation of uncertainty.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee demanded the payment of the dues from the Center and said that our dues are about Rs 75,000 crore. Mamata Banerjee said that the central government has not provided a single rupee to help the victims of the storm.
