On the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu paid tributes to the martyrs and the United States said it stands alongside India to fight against terrorism.
New Delhi: On the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday paid tributes to the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. He called upon the world to come together to isolate nations supporting and sponsoring terrorism.
Saying the nation will always remember their valor and sacrifice, he recalled the dastardly attack on Mumbai by Pakistani terrorists and said “I pay my tributes to the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Nation will always remember their valor and sacrifice. My solidarity with the families who were victims of this dastardly attack.”
He said it was time for the world to come together to isolate nations supporting and sponsoring terrorism. The day commemorates the 12th anniversary of the attack in Mumbai when ten Pakistani terrorists, trained by the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) carried out a series of attacks in Mumbai killing 166 people.
US says stands along with India in fight against terrorism
The State Department in a tweet said the US reaffirmed its commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring justice for the victims, including six Americans.
“On the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, the U.S reaffirms its commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring justice for the victims, including six Americans.
“Standing alongside our Indian partners, we remain resolute in the fight against terrorism,” said the department’s South Asia Bureau. In another tweet, Department Deputy Spokesperson Cale Brown said the US will seek to ensure that all responsible for the attack are brought to justice.
“November 26 marks the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India. Through the rewards for Justice program we seek to ensure that all those responsible for this heinous attack face justice,” said Brown.
