Calling Kashmiris as Pakistanis a BJP’s old strategy: Farooq Abdullah

IndiaCalling Kashmiris as Pakistanis a BJP's old strategy: Farooq Abdullah

Dr. Farooq Abdullah said, “Whoever speaks against the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country, they call them Pakistanis and anti-nationals, but the question is if they are actually nationalists.”

Jammu: National Conference President and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah has said that calling the people of Kashmir as Pakistanis is an old strategy of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that BJP is the party that has pushed the country far behind, for which they will have to answer to the country.

Dr. Abdullah told the media here, “Threatening the people of Jammu and telling them that Kashmiri people are Pakistanis and only they are Indians is an old tactic of BJP.”

Dr. Abdullah said, ‘BJP should think about what they did with Jammu; today our land and jobs are being given to outsiders, where will our children go in this situation.’

He said, “Farooq Abdullah can answer whatever these people say to Farooq Abdullah, but one day they will have to answer to the people of Jammu.” The former Chief Minister said that the promises made to the people of Jammu were not fulfilled after repealing Article 370.

Silencing mainstream political leaders

He further said, “It is their weakness to silence mainstream political leaders, and the more they silence, the more the storm rises against them.” Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that if any party has pushed the country the most, it is the ruling party but they can’t run away from answering the country one day.

When asked about Gupkar’s statement, he said, “Whoever speaks against the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country, they call them Pakistanis and anti-nationals, but the question is if they are actually nationalists.”
