When repeatedly questioned about the Congress party’s position regarding the ordinance and the proposed Bill, Jairam Ramesh, the Congress General Secretary (Communications), addressed these concerns during a subsequent press conference. He stated that the Congress party has consistently opposed the “assaults” by the Modi government on constitutional rights, as well as the interference with democratically elected state governments and local bodies.
