Disturbing visuals from a village in UP’s Lakhimpur reveal a Dalit man seen lying in a pool of blood who died on way to the hospital.
His family around him are crying and wailing while the Dalit man identified as Avneesh according to reports died on his way to the hospital after getting shot by some goons in Basauli Village.
In the video, the victim can be seen lying unconscious in a pool of his blood as he is encircled by his family who is weeping and lamenting. A woman and a small girl in the video can be seen in shock. The police are yet to make an official statement in the case pertaining to the matter.
While the shocking video is making rounds on the internet, many are pointing out the terrible state of law and order in the state of Uttar Pradesh and pointing out how cases of caste-based violence are continuously occurring. It is questionable how people in Uttar Pradesh have such easy access to guns and weapons, revealing that the law and order of the state is completely chaotic and unsafe.
Netizens are highlighting how Dalits are being killed for entering Hindu temples, eating food in the presence of upper castes, growing mustaches, riding horses in the wedding procession, intermarrying, killed for even simply existing, and many Dalit girls have been raped and killed brutally.
One person remarked, “As per Wikipedia, there are 200 million Dalits in India. I wonder why are they not raising voices against these cast Hindu extremists. With due respect and apology to a common Hindu and an Indian.”
Another user came forward and questioned if this is the Ram Rajya and bulldozer Rajya of Uttar Pradesh, implying the mainstream narrative of UP, and further stated that it is a shame that the bulldozers are not being used against rioters, rapists, and murderers, suggesting how Bulldozers demolition is being done as a way of providing “Justice”
The cases of caste-based violence have been on the rise in UP as recently another case came to light where a Dalit man from Bajera Village in UP’s Mainpuri district was murdered when the man couldn’t repay the loan of 1 lakh Rs which had an interest of 10 lakh Rs. The Dalit man, Manoj Kumar, had loaned 1 Rs from an upper caste man, however, the man agreed to give the loan on the condition of Rs 10 lakh in interest, including the land owned by Kumar.
The police guessed the motive for land-grabbing and registered a complaint against the four suspects under the charges of extortion, kidnapping, or abduction for murder and the SCST prevention of Atrocities act. They deny that it is a caste-based murder, however, it is quite evident to the citizens that Dalits are easy targets to be killed, raped, and ravaged.
The Kheri Police responded “In relation to the above incident of murder which took place on 27.09.22 under police station Bhira area, at that time a case has been registered under relevant sections. He is the neighbor of the village and had to get up and sit amongst themselves. There is no caste dispute in the case. Meaningful efforts are being made to arrest Abhi.”
