Hindu woman from Jahangirpuri speaks in support of her Muslim neighbors

IndiaHindu woman from Jahangirpuri speaks in support of her Muslim neighbors

A video that is going viral on social media rounds is of a Hindu woman from Jahangirpuri speaking up for her Muslim neighbors.

A Brave Hindu Woman Strongly Condemns the Attacks on Her Muslim Neighbors

A Hindu woman strongly condemned the attack during the “Shobha Yatra’ in Jahangirpuri and speaking to The Wire said, “What would one do when you come before the Muslims’ mosque during the time of the Muslims’ Roza, and just before that was their Azan and the Hindu crowd from the Shobha Yatra land up with loud music, taunt the Muslims, how much will they take?.”

The reporter asked the Hindu woman, “What did they say?”

The woman answered indignantly, “They said they would cut the Muslims and they will not allow them to live in India.” She went on to say, “Did the Muslims ever go to the temple and trouble anyone.  I have never seen anything like that.  All the people in this area live peacefully.  I have never seen any disturbance and we are a single Hindu family in this locality.”

The Hindu woman went on to say, “The riots came from the Shobha Yatra Hindus side, the Bajrang Dal were carrying guns, knives, and swords and when they were taunting the Muslims with these weapons, they reacted.”

Peace and Harmony Normally Prevails Between Hindus and Muslims

Other residents from Jahangirpuri told The Hindu, “We have lived like a family.” A relationship of peace and harmony is how the residents of riot-hit Jahangirpuri described their bond with each other ever since they started living there more than two decades back.

“Things have never been hostile here among the Hindu and Muslim communities… even in the Muslim majority blocks, there are a handful of Hindu families living next door as well but we have always had an amicable relationship and even small scuffles don’t take place here,” said Aakib, a resident. While the area’s C-Block is mostly Muslim-dominated, the H and G-Blocks largely consist of Hindus.

Residents told The Hindu that Saturday’s clashes, when members of both the communities allegedly turned violent and resorted to stone-pelting during a “Shobha Yatra’ being carried out to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, seemed to be a “spur-of-the-moment” incident and an aberration from the years-long brotherhood both the communities have enjoyed.

Vicious Propaganda Played By the Sangh To Divide Indians

Vicious propoganda however is being spread by the Hindutva facets throughout India and a citizen this morning when boarded the Bangalore-Chennai Shatabdi Express was greeted by this she says “blatantly propagandist publication on every other seat- The Aryavarth Express. Had never even heard of it. How is @IRCTCofficial allowing this???”
