Kishanganj: A trader was killed in a car and pickup van collision on Friday morning in Kurli Court police station area of Kishanganj district in Bihar. Sub-divisional police officer Anwar Javed Ansari told here on Friday that the three youths in the car were riding from Saharsa to Siliguri in West Bengal.
Due to heavy rains, the car collided face-to-face with the pickup van coming from the opposite direction on the National Highway No. 327 (E) Bahadurganj-Thakurganj highway. In this accident, the trader died on the spot while two others were seriously injured.
Mr. Ansari said that the deceased has been identified as Chhotu Jha, 40, a resident of Saharsa Banga. The injured include 35-year-old Amit Kumar and 25-year-old Puluva Jha. All three trade tea leaves.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Purnia. He said the driver left the pick-up van and fled the spot. The family has been informed about this accident.
