Devotees were coming back from Kichhaucha Sharif shrine (dargah) of the Ambedkaranagar district. While on their way back to Lakhimpur, a high-speed truck hit the van on Gonda – Bahraich Highway, causing it to overturn.
Bahraich: In the horrific road accident in Bahraich district, Prayagpur area in Uttar Pradesh, 6 passengers boarded a van while 10 others were injured. Police sources gave this information here today.
Sources said that the devotees were on a pilgrimage in a very famous Kichhachha Sharif of Dargah Makhdum Ashraf Jahangir Semnani in Ambedkarnagar district. The devotees were riding back on a van to Lakhimpur at around 12 pm on Sunday. According to the sources, a speedy truck hit the van near Shivdaha turn on Gonda-Bahraich highway in Prayagpur area, causing it to overturn.
In this accident, six people died on the spot, while 10 people were injured. All the injured have been admitted to Bahraich Medical College, in which some are in critical condition. The identification of the dead is being done.
