Rahul Gandhi was on Monday served a notice to vacate his 12, Tughlaq Lane bungalow by April 22 after his disqualification as a member of Lok Sabha following his conviction in a 2019 defamation case last week.
Weeks after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as a Member of Lok Sabha following a Surat court’s verdict in a criminal defamation case, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on March 28 arrived at brother Rahul Gandhi’s residence.
A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was served a notice to vacate the government bungalow following his disqualification as an MP, he said that he will abide by the order.
Rahul Gandhi was on Monday served a notice to vacate his 12, Tughlaq Lane bungalow by April 22 after his disqualification as a member of Lok Sabha following his conviction in a 2019 defamation case last week. The former Congress chief, a Z-plus protectee, has been living in the bungalow since 2005.
In a letter to Deputy Secretary, MS Branch, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Gandhi said, “As an elected Member of Lok Sabha over last four terms, it is the mandate of the people to which I owe the happy memories of my time spent here. Without prejudice to my rights, I will, of course, abide by the details contained in your letter.”
Indians are contemplating that perhaps PM Modi made a big mistake by disqualifying Rahul and sentencing him to jail.
