Kerala’s Wayanad district has bagged the first spot under the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) of the Niti Aayog. The district achieved the feat after its rapid strides in health, nutrition, financial inclusion, and skill development sectors, said district collector A Geeta.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who represents the Wayanad constituency in parliament, took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement. “Our collective efforts to roll out people-centric initiatives aimed at providing last-mile accessibility has made this achievement possible,” he tweeted.

He said he spoke to the district collector in detail about this. According to Niti Aayog, Wayanad was selected out of 112 districts across the country.

United with Congress, a voluntary collective started by Congress supporters tweeted, “The achievement comes after the remarkable success of the Wayanad district in health, nutrition, financial inclusion, and skill development. What Shri @RahulGandhi  promises, he delivers.

Congress supporters keep reiterating that what Rahul Gandhi promises, he keeps. In addition, temporary members are selected from leading universities and research institutions. These members include a chief executive officer, four ex-official members, and three part-time members.

In 2019, Rahul Gandhi has won Wayanad with one of the highest margins in south India. Not solely that, this win is now the highest margin by which any candidate has won an election in Kerala, the previous record being E Ahamed of IUML winning Malappuram in 2014 with a margin of 1,94,739 votes.
