Elon Musk’s new Twitter to encourage citizen journalism, remove bots

Elon Musk shoots out his new plans for Twitter, including death of bots, rules for parody impersonation and support for citizen journalism.

Elon Musk set out a series of tweets detailing his plans for Twitter in a busy offshoot manner and said, “Going forward, accounts engaged in parody must include “parody” in their name, not just in bio. ”

He added, To be more precise accounts doing parody impersonations. Basically, tricking people is not ok.

He also said, “We’re adding a “Parody” subscript to clarify”

Speaking about giving freedom to the voices of people, and encouraging citizen journalism, he rang a warning bell that the elite class and mainstream media may not like it, but competition from citizen journalists would cause them to be more accurate and tweeted, “As Twitter pursues the goal of elevating citizen journalism, the media elite will try everything to stop that from happening

Mainstream media will still thrive, but increased competition from citizens will cause them to be more accurate, as their oligopoly on information is disrupted.”

Usage of Twitter continues to rise. One thing is for sure: it isn’t boring!  D

Amused by the responses of complainers on Twitter he said, I love when people complain about Twitter … on Twitter 🤣🤣

Interacting with his followers and when possible leaning over to answer even the followers with small followings, he loads back his short sharp answers to their questions, keeping his Twitter handle open and engaging.

Elon, one suggestion, Twitter DMs are cool, but it lacks some features. Make Twitter DMs archivable, add search functionality to Twitter DMs, enable replies to specific messages, etc?.

Musk replied, “The goal of Twitter DMs is to superset Signal”

While rumors are circulating that Musk is going to destroy free speech, it is clear that abuse will not be tolerated and people who cross levels of attacking others have been removed.  There is a definite change on Twitter with old features vanishing, and some new ones being added, and there is a stir in the air as netizens watch and wait to see the new rules of Twitter unfold.

With a whip against bots, it might ease up the tension of trolls on Twitter and bring more freedom and fun to Twitter. Twitter is known to be the most toxic social media platform.  People are waiting to see what will happen, it’s too soon, but certainly, any action Musk does is being watched and broadcast loudly. Asking his followers to vote Republican must not have gone well for the Democrats setting his position on a backfoot.

Elon Musk is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer of SpaceX; angel investor, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of the Boring Company; co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; president of the Musk Foundation; and owner and CEO of Twitter, Inc.

With an estimated net worth of around $174 billion as of November 11, 2022, Musk is the wealthiest person in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes’s real-time billionaires list.
