TMC says Sourav Ganguly didn’t join BJP so no BCCI second term for him

TMC says Sourav Ganguly didn’t join BJP so no BCCI second term for him, but the son of a heavyweight BJP leader is Board Secretary.

The Trinamool Congress has raised questions about Ganguly’s exit, with several party members hinting that the move arrives as a result of BJP’s vendetta as Ganguly had refused to join the party in Bengal. Meanwhile, the BJP has refuted the allegation that it had tried to induct Ganguly into the party.

According to reports, Roger Binny, a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, is likely to replace Ganguly as BCCI chief.

Trinamool Congress state General Secretary and party spokesman, Kunal Ghosh said that the fact Ganguly is exiting as the BCCI President and the son of a heavyweight BJP leader is continuing as the board Secretary is simply not acceptable. “Only Sourav Ganguly can give an explanatory answer in the matter.

“I am not in a position to answer how far he will open up with this political explanation in the matter. But there was a point in time when BJP tried to spread a message throughout West Bengal that Sourav Ganguly will be soon there in their camp. That message was also spread through the development of a heavyweight BJP leader having dinner at his residence. Now BJP had to face questions on the gradual fading out of the message that they tried to spread,” Ghosh was quoted by IANS.
