Uttarakhand teen murder case last rites performed by her family members in NIT Ghat in Srinagar Uttarakhand on Sunday
The last rites of the 19-year-old woman receptionist who was allegedly killed by the owner of a resort in Uttarakhand were performed by her family members in NIT Ghat in Srinagar on Sunday.
Huge furious protests erupted outside a mortuary in Uttarakhand’s Srinagar city on Sunday where the body of the 19-year-old receptionist was kept as the family of the teen arrived to take her body for the last rites. Her father earlier said he was not satisfied with the provisional post-mortem report of his daughter, and added that her last rites will not be performed until they get the final post-mortem report.
The family members of the 19-year-old receptionist, who was murdered earlier this month in Uttarakhand, have questioned the government’s action in the case and refused to cremate her body. The woman’s relatives blocked a highway in protest and are demanding the autopsy report be made public. The family questioned the government’s move to demolish the resort and alleged that it was done to destroy the evidence in the case.
Rohini Singh said, “Why did the Uttarakhand administration destroy the resort where #Ankita worked? As rightly pointed out by experts the resort was a crime scene. The destruction of a crime scene will only benefit the accused. Why was that done?

Congress Furious over the Murder of the Teen By BJP Leader’s Son
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government came under attack from the opposition after a BJP leader’s son was arrested for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand.
Congress is taking up the matter very strongly on every platform on national television as well as social media.
Rahul Gandhi said, “Crime and arrogance have become synonymous with BJP. No embarrassment, no words, just silence, the Prime Minister’s message is clear – women should not expect anything from me.”
pic.twitter.com/Cw0jQmiBfE

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate slammed Smriti Irani who remains silent when countless crimes are done against women by BJP leaders and their sons, and said that when the nation was shocked about what was happening to women in this nation, Smriti Irani showed a picture with a caption “what’s cooking” completely unhampered by the atrocities to women and she as the minister for Women and Child Development should be speaking about these issues, and should be acting against these criminals, but instead she ignores it and instead tells the world what’s cooking in her kitchen. Supriya Shrinate burst out, “We give a damn what’s happening in your kitchen, what’s happening to girls all around is what we care about.”
When Ankita's matter came to light, Smriti Irani was uploading photos from her kitchen asking – What's cooking?
What's cooking is outrage @smritiirani and the fact that you as the Minister for Women & Child Development should be making comments and acting it.@SupriyaShrinate pic.twitter.com/LgBH8KZwxn

@SupriyaShrinate ma’am is taking up Ankita Bhandari issue on every platform. That’s the need of the hour. People and media need to be vocal as to why no one is speaking on that issue, why was the resort of BJP Minister’s son bulldozed which had crucial evidence?

Despite assurances of strict action, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced holding a protest at the BJP headquarters in Delhi and Congress demanding PM Modi’s apology to the nation. The Congress attacked the BJP after party leader Vinod Arya’s son Pulkit Arya was arrested in the murder case of a woman receptionist at a resort in Uttarakhand. The victim was a receptionist at a resort owned by Pulkit Arya in Uttarakhand’s Pauri.
The opposition party termed as “selective action” the BJP expelling Vinod Arya and his son from the party and said it should remove all its lawmakers who are facing charges of crimes against women.
The resort’s manager and the assistant manager were also arrested on Friday and all three were sent to judicial custody for two weeks in the murder case of the 19-year-old receptionist.
AAP Mahila Morcha leader Sarita Singh said that BJP’s hypocrisy has come to the fore. They raise the slogan ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ but the reality is that we need to save our daughters from BJP leaders.
