IndiaStalin: Jaya death probe panel report to be made public as promises

Former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa’s death probe panel report will soon be made public says Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has said that the one-man commission of inquiry headed by retired Justice A.Arumughasamy, which probed the death of former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa, will be made public.

Speaking after solemnising the marriage of the senior party leader’s granddaughter here, he said the probe panel report would be tabled in the State Assembly along with the action taken report based on its recommendations.

The Jayalalithaa death probe panel report along with the report of the Justice Aruna Jagadeesan commission, which probed the May 18, 2018 police firing incident on anti- sterlite protestors in which 13 people were killed, were discussed in detail in the recent State Cabinet meeting and it was decided to table it in the State Assembly.

The Arumughasamy Commission has recommended action against Jayalalithaa’s confidante, VK Sasikala, among others, and the matter will be discussed with legal experts. According to an official release, the report went into various aspects including her hospitalisation on September 22, 2016, and the treatment provided to her, till her death on December 5.

Justice A Arumughasamy presented the report to Stalin a few days back. “The cabinet has decided to take the opinion of legal experts on the (Commission) report recommending ordering government enquiry against VK Sasikala, doctor Sivakumar, then health minister C Vijayabaskar and former Chief Secretary Rama Mohana Rao and take due action, and after doing so, place it before the Tamil Nadu Assembly with a report,” he said. Stalin said the monthly cash assistance of Rs 1,000 for women heads of families as promised in the DMK election manifesto will be launched soon.

Shocking Conspiracies about Her Death:

Conspiracy theories about Jayalalithaa’s death convince many she was murdered.  They say someone pushed her down the stairways just before she was admitted to the hospital.  It is also said she was being poisoned.  During that time, senior AIADMK leader PH Pandian broke his silence over Amma’s death and demanded a probe on it recalling that there were heated arguments at Amma’s Poes Garden residence on the night she was hospitalised, September 22, 2016, and that she was pushed down by someone.

Addressing the media with his son Manoj, Pandian said Amma had suffered from depression and that she had shared her fear of being poisoned by someone. Directing his comments at Sasikala, Pandian said there was no sign of remorse among Sasikala’s family the day Amma was hospitalised. He said, “Sasikala was not crying that day. I saw her on the hospital corridor along with a battalion of her relatives.”

A 2012 Tehelka report by Jeemon Jacob reported, “Jayalalithaa found out that she was given sedatives and chemical substances that had small quantities of poison by a nurse appointed by Sasikala, and this is why she had expelled Sasikala and her family from her Poes Garden residence.”

DMK’s MK Stalin and actor Gautami also expressed their apprehension about the mystery surrounding Amma’s death and why there was so much secrecy about her treatment. In fact, no one was allowed to visit her except Sasikala.

Earlier before he was made chief minister, speaking to the Times of India, Stalin said, “I have been repeatedly saying Jayalalithaa’s treatment was shrouded in mystery. The truth will soon come out in public”

MK Stalin kept his promise and now he is chief minister, he is ensuring that the truth will soon come out in public.
