House of the Dragons epic fantasy filled with disturbing scenes of violence, pain, voyeurism suffering and torture just to lure people?
The episode of House of the Dragon is scheduled to premiere on Augusand t 21, 2022. It is created by Ryan Condal George R. R. Martin: HBO’s prequel to Game of Thrones is gory and violent. While wanting to add in all the masalas to keep the audience gripped, too much of anything loses its aestheticism and this is probably what happened.
Story
What is the story of House of the Dragon? The episode is based on Fire and Blood by George R. R. Martin.
House of the Dragon is about the Targaryen family, who ruled Westeros for 300 years. House of the Dragon begins around 100 years into House Targaryen’s reign.
The Targaryen dynasty was successfully ended by Robert’s Rebellion, a civil war that saw Robert Baratheon succeed the “Mad King,” Aerys Targaryen, as ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. By the time Game of Thrones begins, 17 years after the rebellion, there are only two known Targaryens: Daenerys and Viserys. In Game of Thrones, the Targaryens were a formerly great house. In House of the Dragons, we get to see them as the great House.
House of the Dragon illustrates the beginning of the end for the Targaryens. It follows what in A Song of Ice and Fire lore is called the Dance of the Dragons — a civil war that erupts after two Targaryens voice countering claims to the Iron Throne. King Viserys raised his daughter, Rhaenyra Targaryen, to succeed him, but after Viserys’ death, it’s Viserys’ eldest son to his second wife, Aegon, who gets crowned the new ruler. That triggers a big war that sees numerous dragons slain, and multiple Targaryens killed.
With scenes of violence, pain, suffering and torture, voyeuristic scenes from the brothel, women prancing about fully naked or with too little, and torture being shown in such graphic details makes one feel nauseated.
