1 (UNI/Sputnik) Some 400 people have been evacuated from a residential building in the Russian capital of Moscow over a heavy fire, the Emergencies Ministry said, adding that one person has been rescued.
The roof of the eight-storied residential building on Leninsky Avenue caught fire late on Wednesday. The fire area totals 1,000 square meters. No injuries have been reported. The source told TASS the fire spread from the roof to the attic where insulant was stored.
About 130 firefighters and 38 vehicles are fighting the blaze. “Due to quick actions of the rescuers one person has been rescued from an elevator. Some 400 people have been evacuated from the house,” the ministry said in a statement.
