Late night, NCP President #SharadPawar dissolves all units and cells of the party, days after the #ShivSena coup, all except three units.
While all the units and cells of the NCP were dissolved in a late-night move, the party’s women, youth, and student bodies will continue to operate.
NCP national general secretary Praful Patel tweeted, “With the approval of the national president, Nationalist Congress Party, Sharad Pawar, all departments and cells stand dissolved with immediate effect.” Mr. Patel, a former Union minister, did not disclose the reason for the sudden move, which comes three weeks after the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi or MVA government in Maharashtra.
With the approval of our National President Hon'ble Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb, all the National level Departments and Cells of @NCPspeaks excluding Nationalist Women's Congress, Nationalist Youth Congress and Nationalist Students Congress stand dissolved with immediate effect.

The NCP was a key constituent of the Shiv Sena-led coalition government which fell apart in late June following a rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray by a section of Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde.
On July 4, Shinde won a floor test in the Maharashtra Assembly. He got 164 votes in his support, significantly above the majority mark of 145, while 99 MLAs voted against him.
This sudden move is making people wonder what’s cooking now, and some are even speculating whether NCP would merge with Congress. It is a situation of wait and watch.
