Did a “Purification” of President by Brahmin priests happen?

A purported “purification” ceremony of the tribal #President of India by Brahmin priests is causing furor across the nation.

There are mixed opinions about the ceremony conducted over the next coming-in president of India, Droupadi Murmu, which is believed to be a Brahminical purification ceremony of India’s tribal President.  Reactions over the country are sharp with some claiming it is not a purification ceremony.

Pieter Friedrich, an American journalist tweeted from the USA, “This an official ceremony for the appointment of the new #BJP president of India, who is from a tribal background.

I’ve never seen this included in any other inauguration of a president around the world. I’m fascinated. Can someone please explain what is happening here?”

Draupadi Murmu is an Indian politician who is the president-elect of India. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is the first person belonging to the indigenous, scheduled tribe community to be elected President of India.
