“Entire Amethi is on the streets” against the misbehavior with Sonia Gandhi

“The entire Amethi is on the streets” today against the misbehavior of BJP MPs with Sonia Gandhi in Parliament when they heckled her.

The Congress says that today the people of Amethi are on the streets to tell Irani ji that she would have to apologize for the illegal operations of her restaurant and would also have to apologize for the misbehavior done to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi ji.

Also Congress supporters were sloganeering “Sonia Gandhi Zindabad and Smriti Irani, sharam karo ( have some shame!)”

Congress tweeted, “Voice of Amethi, always with my family.  Today entire Amethi is on the streets against the misbehavior with Sonia Gandhi.  Because Amethi’s relationship with Congress and Sonia Gandhi is not political but family.”

Amethi Lok Sabha constituency is in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It covers the entire Amethi district and was created in 1967.  The seat has almost always been held by the Indian National Congress (INC), save for a half-dozen years in the late 1970s and late 1990s.

The wife of Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, then represented the constituency from 1999 to 2004.  She was succeeded by her son Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi carried the seat for the longest period, from 2004 to 2019.

However, this strong Congress bastion was breached by Smriti Irani of the BJP in the 2019 general elections.  Tensions have always mounted high between Smriti and Rahul with the former constantly taunting him even though she won the bastion in 2019, while Rahul Gandhi never responds to her.

Smriti Irani Filed a Defamation Case Against Congress Leaders

The Delhi High Court on Friday issued summons to Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, and Netta D’Souza on a civil defamation suit filed by Union Minister Smriti Irani seeking damages of over Rs 2 crore for allegedly making unsubstantiated allegations against her and her daughter.

Justice Mini Pushkarna directed the three Congress leaders to remove tweets, retweets, posts, videos, and photos from social media in relation to the allegations made against Irani, who is holding the portfolio of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and her daughter.

The court said in case the defendants fail to comply with its directions within 24 hours, social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube shall take down the material. Irani’s action came after the Congress leaders alleged that her 18-year-old daughter Zoish Irani ran a bar illegally in Goa and also targeted the minister over this, demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack her from his Cabinet.

Goa cafe ‘run by Smriti Irani’s daughter’ shares the address with the company linked to her family while now, Ms. Irani denies her daughter ran the Silly Souls Cafe and Bar in Assagao, but she spoke proudly about it earlier this year.

Congress shares video evidence of Smriti’s daughter’s restaurant so the battle goes on.

Some members of BJP are shamelessly claiming that the owner of the bar is not the daughter of 'Tulsi' ji, this video is for them.

Tempers are flying high and both sides are furious.  Congress is irked because, over the years, Smriti Irirani has been allegedly slandering Sonia and Rahul Gandhi with snide comments and apparently has made claims about them such as in 2018, in the National Herald case, Smriti Irani alleged Rahul Gandhi ‘hid‘ tax details.  In 2020, she accused Rahul Gandhi of lying and misleading farmers and made many personal slurs against the Gandhis.

Supriya Shrinate Indian politician and former journalist, who currently serves as a national spokesperson for the Indian National Congress gave a fiery speech slamming Smriti Irani.

Netizens are reacting to Ms. Irani asking her why was she so quick to respond to criticism on her daughter’s restaurant but silent on the rapes and murders of dozens of girls over the last new years.  Smriti Irani holds the position of administrating the Ministries of Women and Child Development and the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Gaurav Pandhi from Congress highlighted some BJP leaders’ rapes and sexual assaults on women criticizing the BJP’s politicizing the matter by trying to “teach” Congress how to “respect tribals.”, calling them “criminals”.
