With heavy floods across India with over 400 dead, Gujarat is reeling from a single day’s rain, and unconfirmed reports say 106 people.

In Gujarat, the water level climbs up in the Tapi River in Surat due to incessant heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall battered Gujarat Saturday with the Valsad and Navsari districts submerged, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said a depression had formed this morning over the northeast Arabian Sea and off the coast of Saurashtra, and that as of 11.30 am it was 70 km south-southwest of Okha and moving in a north-northwest direction.

While the NDRF carries out a rescue operation, many others set out to help and the Youth Congress also was heavily involved in rescue operations and shared on Twitter, “Several teams of #SOSIYC have gathered around the Navsari District to respond to the call of need.

Thousands of families are suffering the wrath of destructive Gujarat floods. Every member of Congress stands with you in these desperate times.”

The Youth Congress could not resist taking a dig at the prime minister and said, “The Bubble of the Gujarat Model has burst, and we pray for the well-being of the people of Gujarat.

We believe Mr PRminister would stop his ribbon-cutting programs and help those stuck in Assam and #GujaratFloods”
