Uddhav Thackeray resigns and BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis stakes claim of government, Raj Thackeray declares his support to the Shinde camp and BJP.
Uddhav Thackeray resigns as Maharashtra’s chief minister ahead of the floor test tomorrow after SC rejected Uddhav’s government’s plea.
After the Supreme Court refused to stay Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s guide to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government to take a floor test in the Assembly on Thursday, Uddhav Thackeray resigned.
In the meantime, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis reaches Raj Bhawan to stake claim to form the government in Maharashtra. In the meantime, rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde have landed at Goa Airport.
He has also resigned from his MLC post. He thanked the NCP and Congress for supporting him and said, “I want to express my gratitude to the people of NCP and Congress that they supported me. From Shiv Sena, Anil Parab, Subhash Desai and Aaditya Thackeray, these people were only present when the proposal was passed while NCP & Cong people also supported the proposal.”
Just a few hours ago, Raj Thackeray declares his support to Eknath Shinde camp and to the BJP.
Maharashtrians are bidding him goodbye with heavy hearts and a viral trend of farewell to the Best CM is running on Twitter.

Never thought I would admire politics of anyone apart from Shri @RahulGandhi but this man changed my opinion with his political morality and statesmanship.
