Shakeel Ahmad, a tourist guide, a hero, lost his life trying to save Dr. Mahesh from Uttarakhand, a tourist in Tarsar Lake, Kashmir.
It was unfortunate that tourist guide, Shakeel Ahmad, on trying to save a tourist, Dr. Mahesh from Uttarakhand, lost his own life and sadly, Dr. Mahesh is suspected to have also lost his life, drowning in Tarsar Lake, Kashmir.
News agency KNO reported that the body of Shakeel Ahmad, a tourist guide of the Gagangeer area of Ganderbal, drowned while trying to save tourists yesterday, and was recovered at Lidderwath today, while an operation was going on to locate the body of the drowned tourist, Dr. Mahesh.

The incident happened at Tarsar Lake in Sikwas area of Pahalgam, when a group of 10 tourists and three local guides were walking along the lake, sightseeing on Wednesday.
Due to the high flow of water from the lake, as the tourists were walking along with their guides near the lake, the water current pulled in Dr. Mahesh from Uttarakhand who drowned. The tourist guide Shakeel Ahmad jumped in the water to rescue him but due to the powerful current, drowned and lost his life.
The rest of the tourists who were trapped near the lake got rescued later.
