There was a beautiful outreach by Kashmiris for minorities on Friday saying “Minorities can come & live with us in our houses, use our land.”
After serial killings target Kashmiri Hindus and migrants, frightened Kashmiri Pandits say, “Today Kashmir is more dangerous than the 1990s.” The recent killings of migrants not only in 2022 but also in 2021 were sending chills down spines.
In the midst of all this, with anxiety running high, the Kashmiri Maulanas made a special effort to send a message of solidarity to stand with the minorities across mosques on Friday.
The Kashmiriyat shares about this.

“Minorities can come & live with us in our houses, use our land.”
The call for supporting minorities was raised from several mosques across Kashmir during Friday congregational prayers, including Jamia Masjid in Anantnag.

Kaushik Raj, the journalist asks if any Hindu place of worship can deliver such a message to Muslim minorities?

This was a marvelous outreach and sends a strong message across Kashmir of acceptance and solidarity with the minorities. Anantnag cleric pitches strongly for the protection of minorities in Kashmir and the cleric, Maulana Fayaz Amjadi, was addressing a congregation in Jamia Masjid Anantnag speaking very strongly.
He said, they are willing to give up their lands but minorities in Jammu and Kashmir should be given protection. Maulana Fayaz Amjadi said if any Muslim is committing atrocities or killing against minorities thinking it is jihad, “we condemn it”. “If any Muslim is doing this thinking it is jihad, we condemn this jihad. Islam has not given permission for jihad to commit atrocities on minorities or any other person or to kill the person,” he said. Maulana Fayaz Amjadi said the atmosphere should not be spoilt in Kashmir. “The minorities should be taken care of. We urge the administration, we urge the government we are with the minorities here. We condemn those attacking minorities. We request that minorities are given protection in Kashmir. You need our land, take them, but provide security to minorities. As you provide security to minorities here, do the same to us in the entire country,” he added. A clip of the video was also posted on social media.
As Kashmiris stand in solidarity to protect the minorities, one Kashmiri said, “Our mosques do not call for ‘genocide’. this is a video for every Kashmiri to see. It is an important part of our history. We do not want history to tell us that we did not stand with them.”

In another incident, a Shia, a Maulana, a pandit, a Sunni, and a Pahari share a meal together in wonderful harmony. In times of despair all it takes is to stand besides eachother. In these testing times let me show you another face of Kashmir where – A Shia , A Moulana , A Pandit , A Sunni , A Pahari share a meal in harmony. ✊

Outreaches are going on in Kashmir everywhere to reach out to the minorities and it is healing and soothing to witness this at a time when communal and hate wars are being stirred up.
