Bhilwara: Call to massacre Muslims referencing Gujurat 2002

PoliticsBhilwara: Call to massacre Muslims referencing Gujurat 2002

In a massive meeting in Rajasthan, a speaker amid silent authorities calls for a massacre of Muslims referencing the Gujarat 2002 riots.

The death calls to Muslims from prominent Hindutva personalities in India are neverending amid silent people in authority, this time in front of the Bhilwara government administration in Rajasthan.  The inciting speaker supposedly from the Hindu Samaj in Rajasthan screamed out about protecting the Hindu Dharm and “teaching the Muslims a lesson.”  Sparking anger, he brought back memories of Godhra and the backlash of the Gujarat Riots in 2002 where over 2000 people, mostly Muslims were massacred.

In the organized meeting, in front of the Bhilwara government administration, the speaker made his virulent speech to cheering crowds shouting Jai Shri Ram which though originally was considered a peace greeting now signals a death cry in many minds because, during most of the lynching and riots, this call is made.

Imran Rangrej, social activist and law student shared this news tagging the chief minister of Rajasthan along with the police, accusing the administration of being silent spectators.

Not very long ago, in the steamy tense environment in Karauli in Rajasthan on April 2nd,  Karauli City was rumbling with trouble while Muslims fled for their lives.  In fact, a courageous Hindu Lady Smt. Madhulika Singh rescued fifteen Muslims and let them take refuge in her house.

On May 11th, BJP and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) criticized the Rajasthan government after a 22-year-old youth identified as Adarsh Tapadia was allegedly stabbed to death in Bhilwara on Tuesday due to an alleged money dispute.  Police said three minors have been arrested over the killing. The murder took place in the vicinity of the Kotwali Police Station.

The Hindu groups have raised queries concerning the constant communal incidents that are erupting in Bhilwara blaming Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government for appeasement politics. VHP, BJP, and several Hindu outfits protested against the alleged murder of Adarsh Tapadia and sought stern action against the culprits. They have also called for ‘Bhilwara Bandh’.

Amidst protests over the alleged murder, the district administration of Rajasthan as a safety measure shut the internet services until Thursday and sent out a report, “Internet services in Bhilwara to remain suspended till 6 am on Thursday, 12th May, informed Ashish Modi, Bhilwara District Collector.

When gang fights erupt between rival groups, and the victim happens to be one from another community, it has the potential to spark communal riots even if it was not a communal fight as in this case, Adarsh Tapadia, the victim and the attackers had a dispute over money.
