Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted from power in the midnight no-trust vote and now the crowds protest in his favor.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted, ” I have never before in my country’s history seen so many people come out on their own today to overthrow the government of bandits,” as thousands throng the streets at night protesting against the removal of Imran Khan. He was the people’s popular prime minister.

Earlier, Imran Khan said that today marked the beginning of a “freedom struggle” against what he called a “foreign conspiracy of regime change”.
He said, “Pakistan became an independent state in 1947, but the freedom struggle begins again today against a foreign conspiracy of regime change. It is always the people of the country who defend their sovereignty & democracy.”

He also expressed, “Thank you to all Pakistanis for their amazing outpouring of support and emotions to protest against US-backed regime change abetted by local Mir Jafars to bring into power a coterie of pliable crooks all out on bail. Shows Pakistanis at home & abroad have emphatically rejected this.”
“Never have such crowds come out so spontaneously and in such numbers in our history, rejecting the imported govt led by crooks,” he said in another tweet.
Imran Khan is considered among one of the greatest Pakistani prime ministers as their citizens’ voice who led the nation out of militarized corruption and the night of the “War on Terror.” However, situations beyond his control such as the global economic crash, and the nightmare of COVID, which he managed well in Pakistan, but destroyed the economy, and inflation were enough points to bring on the Opposition against him. While he built up the walls of democracy. However, in the end, it was the economy that was the python around Imran Khan’s neck that the Opposition used to their advantage.
Professor Ashok Swain writes, “If the massive street protests in Pakistan continue, Imran Khan’s arrest is a real possibility, and even the ‘establishment’ taking up the driver’s seat!”

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry had also called on the people to stage protests after Isha prayers while speaking to the media in Islamabad earlier in the day. He said that Khan not leading a massive movement would amount to a “betrayal of the country’s politics and Constitution”.
The party later issued a schedule of the various protests that were planned for cities all over the country starting at 9:30 pm, according to Dawn newspaper.
His popularity is staggering and beyond expectations. Notably, Imran Khan did suggest that his removal stemmed from the Biden administration which was displeased with his visit to Russia. Incidentally, this visit was planned long before the Russian-Ukrainian War started.
Someone tweeted, “This is one thing I like about India! The opposition never unites to depose an incompetent prime minister”, Imran Khan was heard saying”.
