Congress to launch nationwide protests against price hikes on fuel

IndiaCongress to launch nationwide protests against price hikes on fuel

After the fuel hike in prices in LPG, diesel and petrol, Congress launches a 3-phased nationwide protest against the Central government.

Meantime in India, the Bharat bandh is launched with trades unions in India starting the two-day nationwide strike on March 28th and 29th, and on 31st March 2022 at 11 a.m. to protest against the fuel hike, Congress leaders and workers, along with people will protest outside their homes and public places by garlanding gas cylinders, scooters/bikes, empty petrol/diesel cans, etc., and also post these activities on various social media platforms, to draw the attention of the deaf BJP government against the insurmountable increase in prices of gas-petrol-diesel,” the circular said.

Congress General Secretary Organisation K.C. Venugopal issued an internal circular to all the state units on Saturday making it compulsory for its leaders and workers to post about the fuel hike protests on social media.

The circular further said, “People of India have been betrayed, duped and deceived by the Modi Government. After keeping the prices of petrol, diesel, gas cylinder, piped natural gas (PNG) & CNG unchanged for 137 days to secure the votes of people, last one week has been a nightmare for a budget of every household.”

“Between 2nd to 4th April 2022 at 11 a.m. there will be ‘Mehngai Mukt Bharat Dharna & March’ with the participation of people at the district headquarters, organised by the DCCs.

“On 7th April 2022 at 11 a.m. Congress workers, frontal organisations, departments and cells, along with labour associations, unions and civil society groups will hold a similar ‘Mehngai Mukt Bharat Dharna & March’ at the state headquarters, organised by the PCCs.”

The state-owned oil marketing companies (OMC) hiked the fuel prices again on Sunday for the fifth time in the last six days.

These prices were revised for the very first time on Tuesday (March 22) after a gap of more than four months.

Earlier too on March 24th protests were held over the nation, by Congress workers and the public in different parts.

Congress leader, president for Congress Karnataka DK Shivakumar writes, “You can’t fool all the people all the time.”

Supriya Bhardwaj writes “Congress MPs – Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha – protest near Mahatma Gandhi statue in #Parliament house on the issue of #FuelPriceHike today

Congress is demanding a discussion in both houses on this issue as a reduction in the petrol, diesel & LPG gas cylinder prices…”

“Youth Congress members protest in #Delhi against the rise in prices of #Petrol #Diesel and #LPG gas cylinders…”

Congress National Spokesperson, Dr. Shama Mohamed tweeted, “Petrol & #diesel prices have been increased again. Fuel prices have been hiked by over Rs 4 since last week. This shameless loot under the excuse of the Russia-Ukraine war must stop! The war started last month, but the BJP govt increased excise on fuel to Rs 33 a litre in 2020!”

Congress leader Siddaramaiah writes, “Fuel price hike is back to haunt common man.  @BJP4India waited like a fox till the end of elections to 5 States, and now jumping on the common man to extract their hard-earned money.

#FuelPriceHike

District President of Nagapattinam North, Smt Chitraselvi protested against the price hike of LPG & Fuel.

The state-owned oil marketing companies (OMC) hiked the fuel prices again on Sunday for the fifth time in the last six days and prices were revised for the very first time on Tuesday (March 22) after a gap of more than four months.  Congress states that the BJP government earned ₹ 26 lakh crore in 8 years through fuel hikes.

Notably, elections were responsible for delays in the price hikes, already predicted, and everyone in India knew the BJP government would hike up fuel to insurmountable highs after the elections were over. What falls far worse is fleecing average citizens who are struggling just to make ends meet and Congress calls it “loot”.
