UN office reported 816 civilian deaths in Ukraine, war rages while Zelenskyy calls for restoring territorial integrity, justice for Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for restoring territorial integrity in his country. Right now, Ukraine has ‘temporarily’ lost access to the Sea of Azov after Russia tightened its grip around Mariupol. Diplomatic efforts have produced small progress as Russia presses on with its invasion of Ukraine.
A Ukrainian writes, “I grew up here. The house of my family has stood here for almost 2 decades. Now this village is occupied by Russians, homes are burned down, dead bodies are on the streets where I used to skate. My three dogs are alone at home. I will never forgive”.

As Russia’s war on Ukraine entered the 24th day on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged “meaningful negotiations on peace” with Russia.
Russia declared that its soldiers had entered the center of besieged port city Mariupol. As bitter fighting between local forces and Russian troops war across the country more than three weeks into the invasion, the two sides are already holding negotiations remotely. However, talks have yielded little progress, with both sides blaming the other, and none have been at the presidential level.
As Russia has continued its attack on Ukraine, targeting major cities, Zelensky in his nightly video address posted early Saturday on Facebook, the President said: “Meaningful negotiations on peace, on security for us, for Ukraine – are the only chance for Russia to reduce the damage from its own mistakes. “It’s time to meet. Time to talk. It is time to restore territorial integrity and justice for Ukraine. Otherwise, Russia’s losses will be so huge that several generations will not be enough to rebound.” infrastructure.
Joe Biden has promised to help Ukraine get air defense systems with a longer range than the shoulder-borne Stinger missiles already on the ground.
However, the US president attempting to support Ukraine militarily without entering into direct conflict with Russia, is seeking to provide better defenses against the Russian artillery that is pounding its cities. Experts say that the perfect weapons for this would be mobile anti-aircraft batteries of the Patriot type, whose effectiveness has been seen in recent years in Iraq and the Persian Gulf.
The UN rights office reported 816 confirmed civilian deaths. Kyiv officials said 222 people had been killed in the capital, including 60 civilians and four children.
