Police arrested a mother, daughter on charges of raising “anti-national” slogans in Kashmir’s capital Srinagar, in Rangreth.
The mother and daughter were arrested by Police Station Saddar and were later shifted to Women’s Police Station Rambagh after finishing the lawful formalities.
A police official spoke to Kashmir Dot Com and said a case under FIR number 209/ 2021 under sections 147, 148, 149, and 326 were registered against them for creating “a law and order situation” in the region after the shootout at Rangreth in Srinagar’s outskirts.
The two militants were killed on Monday 13th December in the Rangreth area of Srinagar outskirts. After the shootout, locals of the nearby areas protested and pelted stones on the security forces and raised anti-national slogans which created law and order problems in the area, he added. — (KDC)
The people in the region allege that they were innocent and some even suggested that the gun was planted on one of them and this is what presumably provoked the protests, thus they are calling it the Rangreth Fake Encounter.
