Bhutan confers the highest civilian award on India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for his support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thimpu:  Bhutan on Friday, December 17, 2021, conferred the highest civilian award on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending “unconditional friendship” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering made the announcement regarding the Order of the Druk Gyalpo. A Bhutanese government statement said the award was for India’s decision to help landlocked Bhutan during the pandemic.

The Bhutanese PM tweeted “Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s @narendramodi name for the highest civilian decoration, Order of the Druk Gyalpo.
