IndiaRahul Gandhi: Gandhi was a Hindu but Godse was a Hindutvavadi

Rahul Gandhi exhorts Indians to throw out the ‘Hindutvavadi’ government by drawing a clear line of difference between Hindu and Hindutvavadi.

The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday spoke in a 31-minute speech in the  ‘Mehangai Hatao Rally,’ in Jaipur held against price rise, where he spoke on different issues and spoke on concerns related to the economy and inflation for 18 minutes and he also spoke strongly against the moves of the Government which concentrates on Hindutvavadi politics.

He said, “In today’s politics, there are two words- ‘Hindu’ and ‘Hindutvavadi’. ‘Hindu’ always tries to find truth and its path is ‘Satyagraha’, while ‘Hindutvavadi’ does not care about truth and only wants to remain in power. A ‘Hindutvavadi’ shot Mahatma Gandhi. Since 2014, there is ‘Hindutvavadi’ rule in the country, we have to uproot it and bring the ‘Hindu’ regime back.”

He called on the people to ‘uproot’ the ruling BJP government at the Center, which he termed ‘Hindutvavadi’ and accused it of having just one motive, to remain in power. said Rahul Gandhi, while calling himself an ardent ‘Hindu’.

He stated that he was not greedy for power and vowed to continue his fight against ‘Hindutvavadi’. “Whether I will get power or not, I will always remain a ‘Hindu’ and my fight against ‘Hindutvavadi’ will continue,” he said while addressing the gathering, in presence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other senior party leaders.

Stressing on the detrimental impacts of demonetisation, GST, unemployment and price rise, which he claimed has affected the people of the country, he accused the Narendra Modi-led government of not caring about the public.

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had arrived in Rajasthan in a special plane and were received by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at the state hangar to participate in the ‘Mehangai hatao’ rally against the National Democratic Government (NDA) at the Centre.   They left for the rally venue at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium by bus.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi joined them later in the rally. The stage at the rally venue has three sections. The main stage seated Sonia, Rahul, Ashok Gehlot, former Congress CMs from other states and other senior leaders.

The second section accommodated state Ministers and other leaders. The third section was for Congress office bearers and other leaders, while the party workers were seated on chairs in front of the stage.

Thousands of party workers from different districts of the state reached the stadium to participate in the rally. A huge number of women were also seen in the rally. Congress workers have expressed faith that their rally will definitely have an impact on the Central government and it will be forced to bring down inflation in view of the upcoming Assembly elections in five states.

The Congress workers expressed that it was the best speech of Rahul Gandhi, aggressive, powerful, with ideological clarity drawing a clear definition between Hindu and Hindutva, and also well explained how the Modi government has ruined the economy.

Immense crowds gathered, and the arena was packed and in his speech, Rahul Gandhi passionately said in his speech to read the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Gita, Upanishad and show me where it tells you to kill a poor person, where does it tell you to harm a weak person, nowhere is it written.

With the violent rising attacks against the minorities in India, this speech hit the chords of hearts.
