Prime Minister Modi addresses the COP26 summit in Glasgow after he arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, for the COP26 climate summit on Sunday.

During his two-day stay, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his British counterpart Boris Johnson. PM Modi will also deliver India’s national statement on the country’s climate action to the delegates.

PM Narendra Modi addressed #COP26 side event on ‘Action and Solidarity – The Critical Decade’, convened by UK PM Boris Johnson. The leaders discussed the three pillars of adaptation, finance, and mitigation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said there is a need to include climate change adaptation policies in the school syllabus to make next-generation aware of the issues.

As the COP26 gained momentum in Glasgow on Monday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged that “anger and the impatience of the world will be uncontainable” unless a deal on climate change is struck and also warns world leaders at COP26 and said, “We can get real on coal, cars, cash, and trees.”

UN chief Antonio Guterres who had said he was left ‘unfulfilled’ after the Rome summit added that COP26 leaders must act to ‘save humanity.”
