In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that “India stands committed in the fight against the scourge of terrorism and reiterates the importance of combating terrorism in Afghanistan.”
“We stand with the people of Afghanistan and hope that perpetrators of this attack would be identified and brought to justice expeditiously,” the statement said.
Over 100 people were killed in a suicide bombing that targeted worshippers during Friday prayers at a Shia mosque in Kunduz in northern Afghanistan on October 8.
The Islamic State-Khorasan claimed responsibility for the attack.
The suicide bomber exploded himself among worshippers shortly after noon in the Seyed Abad Grand Mosque in the Bandar-e-Khanabad area in the capital of Kunduz province.
