Swarna Bhaskar is being trolled by the BJP IT cell for saying “As a Hindu, I’m ashamed!” for speaking about Namaz being disrupted in Gurgaon.
Swarna Bhaskar is being trolled in the sporadic manner she is trolled nearly every couple of weeks for comments she makes. While prominent people on Twitter make thousands of comments daily, somehow Swarna Bhaskar gets singled out.
However, if one studies the context of her comment, she was not criticizing Hindus but in fact, complimenting Hinduism by saying that such low standards of attacking the Namaz was not acceptable in a religion as inclusive and open as Hinduism. Her views of Hinduism, she signified, were so great that it was below the essence of the religion to desecrate the Namaz prayers and the people who did that did not reflect Hindusim. The people who raised the hashtag against Swarna Bhaskar did not understand the heart of her speech.
Breaking: Namaz again disrupted in Gurgaon. Slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ raised. Heavy police presence at the site.

Perhaps, she is targeted because certain people in the public are hired by governmental agencies to thwart any voices among the celebrities who raise a voice against the government.
The intimidating tactics of a pseudo-nationalist class of Hindu Indians evoking Hindutva nationalism have become almost terroristic in nature due to intimidating and frightening citizens of India.
An aggressive form of subverting citizens was founded by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in 1923 and championed by the Hindu nationalist volunteer organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with other organizations, collectively called the Sangh Parivar.
Many Hindus will say that Hinduism differs from Hindutva which is a political ideology, which seeks to either make non-Hindus second-class citizens or convert the masses to Hinduism.
While BJP and RSS are setting their gears to position India as a Hindu nation, the climate of India is turning stormy in the seven years of Narendra Modi’s reign. The “ghar wapsi” ceremonies to reconvert Christians and Muslims back to Hinduism are now very aggressive. Extreme violent vigilantism against Muslims by the gau rakshaks took place where some were lynched, and the movement against “love-jihad” took mostly in BJP-ruled states.
In some villages and towns, when Christians gathered on Sunday mornings, their church doors were rammed open, pastors and even congregation in the church were thrashed, sometimes so badly that they broke legs, and churches were vandalized. The Hindu fundamentalists made fake reports of forced conversions by the Christians and a few Christians have also been killed over the past few years.
The Hindutva brigade believes that for India’s past glory to return she must be reclaimed as a Hindu nation and they attribute the poverty and crime in India to not being an established Hindu nation.
Masses of zealot-like spirits have exploded into hatred and intolerance towards minorities, hurling on new names on them such as “urban Naxals, Jihadis, rice bags, Khalistanis” and a myriad of other taunting names.
The Hindutva far from being religious is political and turning terroristic with very violent colors. While the Hindutva groups will argue that they are not like terrorists but are nationalists, the dictionary definition of a terrorist is “a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” This is exactly what they are doing. While they vandalize, attack, and intimidate ordinary citizens, the government remains silent or promotes the Hindutva workers into political positions.
The ethos of India over centuries has been tolerant and secular and to suddenly stifle millions of Indians to shuttered silence would be criminal and face resistance. Incidentally, India’s population is 1.38 billion people, second to China, which consists of the largest population. With such staggering belief systems, perhaps the Hindutva movement has miscalculated the ramifications of their enforced execution to convert Indians to one major religion or push the others as second-class citizens.
In all this Actor Swara Bhasker who works in Hindi films best known for her supporting work in mainstream productions and starring roles in independent films, has won two Screen Awards and has been nominated for Filmfare Award on three occasions.
Swara Bhasker was born on 9 April 1988 in Delhi to C. Uday Bhaskar, an Indian Navy officer of Telugu descent, and his wife Ira Bhaskar, a professor of cinema studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi who is of Bihari origin. Her maternal grandmother was from Varanasi.
Bhasker grew up in Delhi, where she did her schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. She subsequently studied English literature at Delhi University’s Miranda House where she was classmates with another actress, Minissha Lamba. She did her master’s degree in sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
During the anti-CAA protests, Swara Bhasker took a prominent role in sharing how dangerous the law would be for those who lost either birth certificates or ancestral land papers and was a strong voice for the people which probably played a negative backlash on her acting career.
Presently, whenever she tweets out an opinion, a host of trolls descend on her live ravens her building a malicious Twitter trend. Are a certain section of Indians losing the art of receiving an opinion without vicious reactionary arrows striking back? This means people are losing maturity and inclusiveness burying themselves in narrowed walls of bigotry.
