An adorable video of a 6-yr-old in J&K girl’s plea to PM Modi against ‘so much homework’ goes viral, LG orders a new policy.
The viral video which got 500.7k views reveals a six-year-old girl from Jammu and Kashmir, in which she can be seen lamenting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the heavy load of homework she and her classmates endure, burdened with loads that are subscribed for classes far higher than hers. She also complained of the long classes are also held online from 10 am to 2 pm, and this has gone viral on social media.
Explaining how she has to attend classes from 10 am to 2 pm every day, she says in Hindi the video: “Why are young children like me being given so much homework?”
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on viewing this tweeted, “”Very adorable complaint. Have directed the school education department to come out with a policy within 48 hours to lighten burden of homework on school kids. Childhood innocence is gift of God and their days should be lively, full of joy and bliss.”
Schools had begun opening slowly as the first wave of coronavirus subsided across the country. However, as the second wave hit, states across India once again began going into lockdown.
Jammu and Kashmir had ordered the closure of schools and colleges, with classes now being held online. The state had earlier canceled class 10 board exams and postponed class 12 exams.
Coronavirus cases have been on the decline in the union territory, with 1,525 new cases and 37 deaths having been recorded Monday. This is the lowest daily death in over a month.
Cases have been on the downhill in several other parts of the country too, but states have extended lockdowns to avoid complacency after seeing an unprecedentedly deadly second wave.
