Actor Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account permanently suspended for calling a repeat of 2002!

Arts & EntertainmentActor Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account permanently suspended for calling a repeat of 2002!

Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account is permanently suspended due to an inflammatory tweet urging
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “tame” Mamata Banerjee using his “Virat Roop” from “early 2000s” in Bengal basically telling the Prime Minister of India to do a repeat of Gujarat riots on Bengal in order to bring Mamata Banerjee down.  This tweet sparked outrage leading to netizens asking for action against Kangana Ranaut for inciting genocide and her account is now permanently suspended.

Kangana Ranaut’s account has frequently violated Twitter policy on “hateful conduct and abusive behavior”, the social media site said.

She had previously called on genocide against different communities.  Last year, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel had stirred anger on Twitter with a tweet blaming the Tablighi Jamaat for COVID spread calling action against them.  This led to her account being suspended for hate speech.

“We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy,” a Twitter spokesperson said, saying the rules were applied judiciously and impartially.

“As explained in our abusive behaviour policy, you may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.”

Kangana Ranaut is notorious for her outrageous, no-filter posts on social media.

The actor also posted a rant on her Instagram account earlier today but has not yet said anything about the blocking of her Twitter account. The Insta account remains active while she appeared before the camera with tear-filled eyes weeping about Bengal’s violence where “people being murdered, gang-raped and their houses being burnt”. She also asks for President’s Rule in the state, criticizing a “government that I support” for not doing more than dharnas in response to the clashes.

The present tweet of Kangana inciting genocide should actually get her arrested under the NSA, (National Security Act) because a personality of her prominence wields a great influence on crowds to incite genocide, unlike an ordinary citizen, who would anyway be arrested for such virulent words.  Recently, Yogi Adityanath ridiculously got citizens arrested for helping other citizens with oxygen during the COVID crisis!  It seems we have four sets of laws for four different sets of people, and India is operating under one nation, one law, unfortunately.
