Every 5th person in India has Coronavirus per official data

HealthEvery 5th person in India has Coronavirus per official data

Per official data, every 5th person tests positive as the infection rate spirals up in the country.  The current second wave has been found extremely contagious by the doctors, has overwhelmed the hospitals. People of all ages are affected including children and youth.   The beds are filling fast, oxygen requirements and antiviral drugs desperately needed, many people in cities have great difficulty creating and burying their loved ones due to the rising number of the dead.

Every fifth sample collected for the Covid-19 test has tested positive in the national capital in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin by the family welfare department on Thursday revealed. Delhi detected as many as 16,999 new cases of coronavirus after testing 82,569 samples, whereas 112 more people succumbed to the viral disease.

Yesterday saw +256,947 new cases, 2 lakhs is historical!  Yesterday alone, +1,757 people died, yet it is believed that people dying from COVID are shown dying from another death, COVID not taken as the primary death, so the numbers dying from COVID-19 must be far higher.

In New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi tests positive for COVID after he had some mild symptoms and tweeted, “After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe.”

His close aide and spokesperson of INC Randeep Surjewala also recently tested positive for COVID.   Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to hospital yesterday with a high fever and found positive for COVID on tests.  He had received two doses of Covaxin and was, according to sources, hospitalized as “a matter of precaution.”

Rahul Gandhi was among those who posted his wishes for the Congress leader. “Dear Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji, Wishing you a speedy recovery. India needs your guidance and advice in this difficult time,” he tweeted.

In a prenomination that the pandemic was taking a heavy toll on citizens, Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, cancelled all his election rallies in West Bengal citing the COVID surge urging other leaders to do the same.

He said, “In view of the COVID situation, I am suspending all my public rallies in West Bengal. I would advise all political leaders to think deeply about the consequences of holding large public rallies under the current circumstances.”

Many politicians have tested positive for COVID in the past including Amit Shah, home minister of India from BJP, Yogi Adityanath Chief Minister of UP, among many others and recently former Bihar education minister Mewalal Choudhary died of COVID.

It is said that one out of every five Indians have COVID. The lethal monster is ruthlessly taking lives and in the second wave of COVID people of all ages are getting attacked, unlike the first wave where it was only the elderly and the sick.

The dead are buried in the same manner during wartime, in some cities and different parts of the country, there are mass grave burials and cremations, so vast and overflowing and roads are flooded with ambulances. India is in a war! A war against Corona, we must not forget.

We must never forget the most fatal pandemic Bubonic Plague recorded in human history, which caused the death of 75–200 million people, also known as the Black Plague, which monstrously took away lives mercilessly. It is said the plague ended through the implementation of quarantines.

We cannot quarantine India but we have to stop crowds and quarantine hot spots.  All this mass campaigning and gatherings should be stopped.

At this time, should not the Prime Minister of India stop his election campaigning in this disaster and show some responsibility and care of the nation like a chowkidar?
