HealthCM Uddhav Thackeray asked for oxygen, remdesivir; PM said busy in Bengal, claims CM
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uday Thakaray called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Office requesting an urgent supply of oxygen and also needed remdesivir, and he was informed that the Prime Minister was busy in Bengal with the elections and would respond when he returns said CM Uday Thakaray, , reported Fress Press Journal and India Today on Saturday.

The fifth phase of voting was held today in the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Delhi and Maharashtra report the largest spike of COVID in a single day, with Delhi logged 19,486 SARS-CoV-2 cases in the last 24 hours and Maharashtra logged 63,729 cases. Maharashtra is the worst-hit State being the financial capital city of India as well as one of the most populous states recorded 398 deaths in the last 24 hours while 45,335 patients were discharged.

All states in India are requesting the Central Government for more oxygen and there also is a short supply of remdesivir, the antiviral drug to treat SARS-CoV-2.

The Chief Minister was indignant about the response from the PMO’s office while BJP leader Piyush Goel has rubbished the claims while the Prime Minister remains silent about the claims.  Opposition leaders have said that the Prime Minister’s alleged response to CM Uddhav Thackeray was  ‘shocking’.

Nawab Malik a leader of the NCP said, “It is sad & shocking that when Government of Maharashtra asked the 16 export companies for #Remdesivir, we were told that Central Government has asked them not to supply the medicine to #Maharashtra.  These companies were warned, if they did, their license will be cancelled(1/2)a

He also said, “Here is the another proof of step motherly treatment given by central government to #Maharashtra.
This is the approval letter to one of the export companies to supply stock of #Remdesivir to the state of Gujarat Only.
Can this double standards be explained ?

Famous TV anchor and journalist Rajdeep Sardesai said, “Breaking now: Maharashtra CM office : @OfficeofUT claims that he called @PMOIndia for urgent supply of oxygen and ramdesivir. But he was told that PM is in Bengal and he will contact him when he is back. PMO response awaited.”

The message from the alleged response from the PMO’s office is causing citizens to comment about the PM’s indifference for the lives of the SARS-CoV-2 victims saying that if the very lives that voted the Prime Minister into power are immaterial, then it is alarming. and they are saying, “Modi only cares about votes only not for Voters…”
