The situation across Maharashtra continues to worsen due to the spreading of severely the covid pandemic, Marathwada region 7,454 novel Coronavirus cases and 111 fatalities noted in a single day biggest spike due to COVID-19,

Aurangabad: Eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region biggest spike out 7,454 novel Coronavirus cases and 111 fatalities in a single day due to COVID-19, health authorities here told media on Monday.

The situation across the region continues to worsen due to the spreading out severely the covid pandemic as spotting more and more cases each and every day with fatalities.

Details from all the district headquarters showed that here of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad was the worst affected, which recorded the highest number of positive cases ie 1,280 cases and 33 deaths, followed by Nanded with 1858 new cases and 27 deaths.

Parbhani registered 405 new cases and 20 deaths, Beed had 1065 cases and 11 deaths, Jalna had 495 cases and 9 deaths, Hingoli 133 cases 5 deaths, Latur had 1647 cases and 3 deaths and Osmanabad had 573 cases and 3 deaths.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours total of 63,294 fresh cases of COVID-19 highest spike out across the state, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 34,07,245.

The state also registered 349 more deaths, taking the death toll to 57,987.

Meanwhile, a total of 34,008 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 27,82,161 across the state.

The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 81.65per cent and the fatality rate is 1.70 percent.

At present there are 5,65,587 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centers and hospitals, they added.

It may be noted that in view of rising cases the state government has imposed strict restrictions and weekend curfew across the state under the initiative of ‘ break the chain.
