“Kerala is gearing up for a huge change”, says Rahul Gandhi

India“Kerala is gearing up for a huge change”, says Rahul Gandhi
With the Kerala Assembly Elections 2021 of five states going to polls in over a month, and campaigns going on with full flury, it is anticipated that Congress has the best chance of winning Kerala on its own and the other three states with allies.

The Congress party says that there seems to be a definite change is seen by the political mood of the voters against the LDF and in favor of the UDF everywhere in Kerala.

Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader representing the constituency of Wayanad, Kerala arrived to a resounding warm welcome at Areekode, Eranad, Malappuram on Thursday.

The Congress party stated that Kerala is clearly inspired by Rahul ji’s vision.  The Congress-led UDF released a “People’s Manifesto” for the April 6 assembly polls, promising Rs 2,000 monthly pension to homemakers and five lakh homes to the poor among other promises.  Congress reiterates that whatever they promise, they deliver.

The present scandals in Kerala under the Pinari government have not gone well for the LDF.  The gold smuggling scandal trail goes all the way up to the chief minister’s office. The brutal violence lashed out on protesting students turned the tide against the LDF among a host of other things.

The communal politics of BJP also does not facilitate vibes in favor of BJP as it may do so in different parts of North India.

In the Lok Sabha polls held in 2019, the Congress-led UDF swept Kerala by winning 19 of 20 parliamentary seats. The Congress alone got 15 seats which are the highest for the party from any single state and its total tally in parliament is 52.

It is predicted that Rahul Gandhi can once again turn the tide if he achieves what he did in  2019.   A recent survey reveals that Rahul Gandhi is hugely popular in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He is the preferred choice for prime minister for 43 percent of people in Tamil Nadu and 58 percent of people in Kerala.

His decision to contest from Wayanad in the Lok Sabha polls was a tactical move to achieve good results in the assembly election.  As he said, “Kerala is gearing up for a huge change.”

Indeed, with the massive welcome, he is receiving in Kerala, and with people opting for change, the tide seems to be changing in favor of the Congress-led UDF.
