Uttar Pradesh: The UP Gram Vikas Adhikari recruitment is canceled largely affecting 9 lakh applicants for 1953 available posts. The anxious youth have kept waiting for an appointment which kept dragging. Every new date set was used to hurtle like stones at the waiting youth like bringing on much distress.
The exam was to be held for the post of Village Development Officer, Gram Panchayat Officer, and Social Welfare Officer and was canceled by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) board by issuing a notification.
This matter had been the cause of much stress and worry for a long time. In May 2018, the advertisement for the recruitment of a Gram Panchayat Officer was removed. Its examination was conducted in December 2018 and results were also released in August 2019. Despite the results, the recruitment process was blocked for about 10 months.
After the release of the results for these posts in August 2019, a number of document verification programs had been issued by the Commission several times, and it finally appeared as if the Uttar Pradesh government was not keen on hiring anyone and seemed to suggest that the exams were just an eyewash.
Joblessness is a crisis in Uttar Pradesh. According to a report by Business Today, the number of jobless in UP rises by 58% to 34 lakh in two years.
“The number of unemployed educated youth in India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, has grown by over 12.5 lakh in the last two years to 34 lakh,” the Yogi Adityanath government said at the state assembly on February 14.
In answer to this statement at the state assembly, UP’s Labour Minister Swami Prasad Maurya said 33.93 lakh unemployed persons were registered as of February 7, 2020, with an online portal run by the labour department.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee in charge of Uttar Pradesh tweeted, “ By waiting for the VDO-2018 examination, the youth waited for appointment till 2021. The date kept on coming. Appointment not found. Every new date used to hurt like a stone. Recruitment was canceled yesterday.
There was darkness in these young eyes.
There is an outpouring in the promotion of CM Saheb.
But UP’s youth is out of job. (sic).
VDO-2018 की परीक्षा देकर युवाओं ने 2021 तक नियुक्ति का इंतजार किया। तारीख पर तारीख आती गई। नियुक्ति न मिली। हर नई तारीख एक पत्थर की तरह चोट करती थी।
