Priyanka Gandhi known by her married name Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is an Indian politician and the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee in charge of Uttar Pradesh. This is the first time she will stretch out of Uttar Pradesh in an election campaign.
Her campaigning outreach would include interactions with Party office bearers and diverse groups of people. She will also launch a statewide campaign for unemployed youth and address a mega rally in Tezpur, a town and urban agglomeration in Sonitpur district in Assam. Tezpur is located on the banks of the River Brahmaputra. She will be in Tezpur for two days addressing a rally on March 2nd.
Priyanka Gandhi will be campaigning in other parts of upper Assam. She will first visit the Kamakhya temple, a well-known pilgrimage site in Guwahati, and then travel to other cities for campaigning.
In a recent transition after Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Assam, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) quit the NDA alliance to join the Congress-led grand alliance in Assam. It is noteworthy that Assam does not endorse caste or religious politics, so in a statement, this move was to nurture “peace, unity and development,” as said by Hagrama Mohilary, President of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
Assam is being set for political winds of change.
